Latar belakang penelitian ini adalah prihatin melihat kondisi dunia pendidikan di Indonesia. Jauh dari nilai-nilai karakter yang dirancang oleh pemerintah. Sehingga peserta didik terjebak dalam kemerosotan moral. Untuk memahami konsep QS Al-Isra ayat 23-30 menurut Tafsir Al-Azhar. Sekaligus metode melaksanakan karakter. bisa menjadi referensi membangun Dalam penyusunan skripsi ini, jenis digunakan berdasarkan tempat aktivitasnya studi kepustakaan. Penelitian seluruh datanya bersumber informasi tertulis berupa naskah, buku, poto, dokumen, dan lain-lain. Sumber tersebut memiliki hubungan dengan topik ingin dikaji secara rinci. Yaitu Al-Qur’an Surat Setelah dilakukan pengkajian rinci berbagai ada. Didapatkan hasil bahwa Hamka menggunakan tahlili (analisis). Berdasarkan pada hadis, keputusan sahabat tabi’in, penggunaan syair, analisis bil ma’tsur. Secara menyeluruh, Al-Azhar unik ciri khas tersendiri. Sebab, pendekatan sejarah, sosiologis, tasawuf, ilmu kalam, sastra, psikologi.
